FSA stands for Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting.
Today we post about this certification as its is promoted “for all professionals who would benefit from understanding the link between sustainability and financial performance”.
This certification is offered by the renowned IFRS Foundation.
Since its creation in 2001, the IFRS Foundation has transformed the global landscape of financial information by introducing IFRS Accounting Standards developed by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). These Standards serve as a global language of financial statements and are used by more than 140 jurisdictions.
Important also to know that it was in 2021 that the IFRS Foundation created the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) which operates alongside IASB.
ISSB was behind the issuance last year of the General Sustainability-related Disclosures (IFRS S1) and Climate-related Disclosures (IFRS S2).
More recently, they also updated on several partnerships, including with GHG Protocol, CDP, TNFD and GRI.
Seems a perfect time considering this FSA Credential, no?
Specially for those professionals not willing to be left behind and concerned about “what is outside the box”.
