Based in France, since its (recent) creation in June 2021 as a a joint venture between Renault Group and Plug, HYVIA has been developing an ecosystem dedicated to hydrogen mobility. It includes a range of H2 light commercial vehicles (a van, a chassis cab and a minibus), H2 refueling stations, H2 supply as well as financing and maintenance solutions for its customers.
HYVIA annouced yesterday that it has just installed its first electrolyzer in its Flins plant, in the Ile-de-France region, near Paris. Its a 1 MW electrolyzer with a capacity of 400 kg/day of green hydrogen production, which is the equivalent of 20,000 km of commercial hydrogen mobility. It will initially supply the plant in order to test the fuel cells of the Renault Master H2-TECH vehicles marketed by HYVIA as well as the hydrogen refueling stations.
Plug has already installed several of its PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) electrolyzers in Germany, France, the Netherlands and Portugal. And globally, it has deployed more than 60,000 fuel cell systems, designed and built 185 refueling stations that distribute more than 70 tons of hydrogen per day. Its clients include NASA, Boing, BMW, Carrefour and Amazon, among several others .
