Formula E. A Net Zero sport from the start. First Brazilian GP.

Formula 1. Senna, Piquet, Fittipaldi, Massa, Barrichelo, Pace (saudade!).

But have you heard of the electric version of Formula 1? Formula E.

It exists since 2011. And tomorrow, March 25, 2023, we will have the first Brazilian GP of Formula E in São Paulo, street circuit Anhembi and Sambódrono.

According to the FIA portal, "Formula E is more than just a racing series - it's a battle for the future. Our radical cars - all powered by electricity - pave the way for the road cars of tomorrow, with the series acting as a competitive platform to test and develop the latest in electric technology".

For the 2023 season, new generation of cars. Inspired by jet fighters, the Gen3 has been rethought, redesigned and rebuilt to become the most advanced electric car on track.

Some really innovative racing elements:

- ATTACK CHARGE, Gen3 cars receive 600kW of extremely fast charge at the pit stop. Mandatory stop of 30 seconds that unlocks ATTACK MODE

- ATTACK MODE, extra dose of power. Drivers "arm" the car, leave the racing line and go through the Activation Zone, a slower line in a curve. As a reward, 50kW of extra power.

Until last year there was another very interesting rule, the FANBOOST. It gave fans the opportunity to vote for their favorite driver and reward them with extra power during the race. Like a video game or augmented reality. Who knows, maybe one day it'll come back.

Some groups have supported this transition from fossil fuels to electric ones. Carbon Credit Markets would like to mention ABB, Julius Bär, Hankook, Sabic and refer to many others here.

There are currently two Brazilian drivers: Lucas di Grassi, from the Mahindra Indian team, and Sérgio Sette Câmara, from the Chinese Nio 333. In the last laps, indication of how much charge is left in the cars ... zero!
