Brazil issued technical guidelines with its accounting treatment for carbon credits, emission licenses and decarbonization credits (CBIO). This is OCPC 10, indicated in Regulation 223 by CVM, the Brazilian SEC, and is mandatory for public companies from January 2025. Any future guidance issued by the IASB and related to the topic may lead to updates in this Brazilian regulation.
